Speaking of culinary experiences, if you’re a seafood lover like myself; you cannot leave this stunning island without visiting one or two of its best fish markets.

As someone who has never encountered a fish market before moving to Spain; my first experience in Palma’s bustling marketplace was nothing short of bewildering – what with so many vendors displaying an endless array of fresh catches packed on ice or beautifully laid-out platters accompanied by colourful assortments of fruits and vegetables! The sheer diversity available at each stand will overwhelm even seasoned sea-foodies. Will it be succulent salmon fillets? Crustaceans as big as your hand? Furthermore, not all fish markets may please everyone’s budget palate but don’t worry because there are options for every wallet size right across Mallorca Island. Attention fish lovers and foodies! Are you planning a trip to beautiful Mallorca? Don’t miss out on the opportunity to explore some of the best fish markets in town. But before you dive into those seafood platters, let’s analyze both the advantages and disadvantages that come with visiting these busy markets.

Let’s start off with the perks. Firstly, fresh seafood! You can’t get any fresher than straight from the sea; it even has that smell of salty blissiness as if screaming “I’m just freshly caught!”. Secondly, variety! Imagine walking down rows of market stalls with an abundance of exotic-looking fish staring back at you. The possibilities are endless for your next memorable meal!

However, there are also some drawbacks to consider. Firstly – expect crowds galore! Then comes hygiene – I mean; flies-love-fish right?! Do keep aware of how vendors keep their products clean and consistently check fish freshness through old-fashioned techniques like smelling scales or checking eyes clarity.
