☝️ How we rated the services below:
When it comes to finding the best beaches for snorkelling in Mallorca, we certainly did our research and identified several key criteria that informed our review process. Here’s what we looked at:
- Water clarity: One of the most important factors when it comes to a good snorkelling spot is water clarity. We sought out beaches with crystal-clear waters, which not only make for optimal visibility but also enhance the overall experience.
- Marine life diversity: A beach with plenty of marine life on offer makes for an exciting snorkelling adventure – after all, who doesn’t want to see colourful fish darting around in their natural habitat? We took into account how diverse and abundant the underwater species were at each location.
- Accessibility: The ideal snorkelling beach should be relatively easy to get to without having to navigate rough terrain or cliffs (unless you’re more advanced). That way, even those who are less confident swimmers can still partake.
- Safety Considerations: No one wants negative experiences or injuries on vacation! Thus safety is crucial when considering a beach as a great option for Snorkeling – factors such as tide sensitivity, and clean litoral areas are very important!
- Scenery: While beauty may not necessarily affect your ability to have a great snorkelling experience – come on let’s admit it – beautiful scenery around us just adds MUCH enjoyment! Therefore impressive geographical features like rock formations or scenic views from the land are bonus points during our selection process.

Cala Agulla
⭐ Our Honest Opinion of Cala Agulla:
With its clean, pristine white sand beach and crystal clear waters, Cala Agulla is like something out of a postcard! From the moment you step foot on the shore, it’s impossible not to be taken in by the sheer natural beauty of this place. The wide expanse of sand makes for a perfect spot to relax in under some gorgeous shade trees – there’s nothing quite like it! And hidden around the corner is a smaller rocky cove called Moro that offers more privacy for those seeking solitude. You could spend an entire day exploring all that this area has to offer!
For me, what really sets Cala Agulla apart from other beaches I have visited is how shallow and calm the water is. This was especially important as we had my older mother with us who can’t swim very well anymore. But here she felt completely safe wading about in the beautiful warm waters.
While parking might cost €6 (which wouldn’t even register as an issue elsewhere), I found that when compared to other similar places along Spain’s coastline during peak season, it was actually very reasonable and worth every penny spent. All in all? A great experience which I’ll no doubt revisit someday soon!

- Beautiful wide beach with white sand
- Shady grove of trees nearby
- Crystal clear and shallow waters

Caló del Moro
⭐ Our Genuine Review of Caló del Moro:
Nestled in the beautiful Balearic Islands is Caló del Moro, a stunning beach that promises breathtaking views and crystal-clear water. Upon arrival, you’ll be greeted with an entrance fee sign. There’s no need to worry though because it only costs €4 per person, which is quite reasonable given the majestic view and experience. The parking situation can be challenging as side streets often lead to tickets; hence plan accordingly by arriving early at Cala Llombath or opt for other closer parking spots.
The spot gets crowded pretty quickly thanks to its spectacular backdrop among tourists exploring Sant Antoni de Portmany Island. Finding space for your towels can also be hectic since both coves are quite small, so it’s ideal always to camp there early before 10 am! Additionally, one must note that going down the rocky steps requires being extra careful not to hurt yourself while wearing appropriate shoes such as sneakers or Tevas.
Ultimately, this turquoise water paradise is worth visiting if you’re looking for an unforgettable experience far from city rush and noisy Amusement parks – where else would you find such a place? Caló d’es Pou
⭐ Our Genuine Review of Caló d’es Pou:
Caló d’es Pou is an absolute gem of a beach that I stumbled upon during my recent trip to Cala D’or. Although it can get pretty busy, especially on hot days, the crystal-clear waters and stunning views make it all worthwhile. It’s lovely to just soak up the sun or take a swim in the sea. And if you’re feeling peckish or thirsty, there’s even a bar where you can grab some refreshments.
But what really impressed me were the sun loungers – they are so comfortable and well-priced that I ended up spending almost my entire day here! The view from around the corner onto the rocks was also absolutely breathtaking, making for some great photo opportunities with your friends or family.
The only downside is that due to its popularity and size, this beach can get crowded at peak times. But don’t let that put you off! Trust me; visiting Caló d’es Pou is an experience not to be missed if you’re ever in this area of Spain. So pack your bags and head out quickly!
👍 Our Reasons for Recommending:

Caló des Borgit
⭐ Our Genuine Review of Caló des Borgit:
Nestled in the heart of the Balearic Sea lies Caló des Borgit, a hidden gem just waiting to be discovered. This heavenly little bay is truly one of the most beautiful places I have ever visited! As I approached it from the sea, I was amazed at how small it looked – but once we docked and started exploring, we realized just how much there was to see. The turquoise water glistens in the sunlight and offers great protection from any incoming waves.
One thing that blew me away was simply walking along the coast and trekking through this area. There’s a lovely path leading to other beaches nearby which makes for a fantastic hiking adventure!. And when you reach certain cliffs surrounding this cala, you can experience some breathtaking views that are perfect for taking photos!
However, please note that if you plan on visiting during September like we did, swimming might not be an option as algae covers almost all of its swimming sections. It’s better off used for soaking up some sun or capturing beautiful pictures – which can still make your visit totally worth it. Plus…the good news is that if you want even more space to yourself then visiting during April could work wonders as it empties out compared to Summer months.
All in all though- If you’re looking for a stunning natural setting with amazing scenery then Caló des Borgit has definitely got what you need!
👍 Our Reasons for Recommending:
- Beautiful views and turquoise water
- Great for walking/trekking along the coast
- Nice restaurant/snack bar at the end of the bay

What Are The Pros And Cons Of visiting a Beach for Snorkelling in Mallorca?
Mallorca may be known for its picturesque beaches and crystal-clear waters, but not all of those seemingly perfect gems are created equal when it comes to snorkelling. Sure, you might be able to spot some fish or bask in the sun at any ol’ beach on the island, but if you’re looking for an underwater adventure that’s truly worth your while, then choosing carefully is key.
The good news? There are plenty of beaches that offer prime snorkelling conditions in Mallorca! The bad news? Well, depending on what you’re after and where you go, there can also be a fair few drawbacks. For one thing, some spots might get pretty crowded during peak tourist season – which means more competition for space and less chance of spotting elusive sea creatures without getting kicked in the face by someone’s flippers.
Another potential downfall could be choppy waters or strong currents – no matter how clear they are (so much irony). While these types of conditions might make things a bit more exciting if you’re up for a challenge or two (like being pulled away from land), they could also ruin your day if you’re not prepared. And let’s not forget about jellyfish; wouldn’t want to give anybody nightmares now would we?
On the plus side though: once you find “that” beach with top-notch visibility and diverse marine life– think colourful coral reefs filled with an array of exotic species- then everything will feel wonderfully worthwhile. You’ll soon skim around as gracefully as a dolphin revelling in Nemo-worthy viewings below the surface – pure serenity.
Overall Mallorca has many wonderful beaches offering great snorkelling experiences so don’t worry too much about analysis paralysis in finding one. Just beware whilst searching below deck-like seas that result from guest battleships!
PROS
- Clear and warm water temperatures all year round.
- A wide variety of marine life, including colourful fish and plants.
- Many beautiful beaches to choose from with different depths and underwater landscapes.
- Plenty of snorkelling tour operators that offer guided tours or equipment rentals.
- Great opportunity for outdoor activities and exploring the island’s natural beauty.
CONS
- Crowded beaches during peak tourist season, especially popular spots.
- High chance of sunburn due to long exposure to the sun.
- Weather can be unpredictable at times, affecting visibility underwater.
- Some snorkelling locations require a bit of hiking which might not be suitable for everyone.
Conclusion
And that’s a wrap! We’ve explored the best beaches for snorkelling in Mallorca. By now, you must be itching to grab your snorkel mask and explore what lies beneath the waves of this stunning island. And who wouldn’t be? The crystal-clear waters coupled with an abundance of marine life will have you feeling like Ariel from The Little Mermaid (minus the singing voice).
